Abstraction

Sarah Schumann

At the end of the 1950s, the oeuvre of Sarah Schumann shows an intense engagement with abstract painting. Her exhibition activities in the Zimmergalerie Franck in Frankfurt am Main and the Galerie Parnass in Wuppertal as well as her marriage to the gallery owner Hans Brockstedt and trips through Europe allow the artist, who still signs as Maria Brockstedt, to participate in this art movement.
